Random Fishing Thoughts

November 9th, 2009

Yesterday, Jacob and I didn’t go fishing in the morning on Big Muskego. My buddy from work was sick. Health is obviously more important than anything.

Later in the day, me, Jacob and Hannah did a lot of shore fishing, but we all got shut out. I figured, this would be a good time for some random thoughts about what I have seen this year fishing.

1. Pick up your garbage. You carried it to where you were fishing. Go throw it out. Don’t be so lazy. Soda cans, worm containers, lure packages, plastic bottles.

2. Stop hording fishing areas. We went to a fishing pier in a state park and there were three guys on the pier using at least six fishing poles. Seriously… There wasn’t anywhere where we can fish…. Another time…one guy with four poles leaning up on a picnic table (next to a lake) while fishing in another spot next to the picnic.

Jacob didn’t catch anything today, but there is always tomorrow.  Me and him are going with a work buddy on his boat on Big Muskego, tomorrow morning at 6:30am.

New cat

October 22nd, 2009

I now have a new cat.  Her name was Sheba, until I went to the vet to find out that she is actually a he.  I have been calling him Heba, but am not sure if I will keep that name.  Tiger and Nugget have been getting along with the new cat.

Even the kids got involved with the fun at Root River Parkway Pond. They were both using night crawlers with a bobber.

The weather changed and it was real windy. I did end up pulling this one out. Maybe the same one that I caught before?

Big Muskego Lake, September 27, 2009

September 28th, 2009

I got out fished by my fishing partner on the 27th, five to one. Had some fish on the line, but couldn’t get them in the boat. There will always be another day of fishing.

Another day at the secret spot.
Caught a large mouth bass on a yellow-green top water spinner. Lost a nothern (and lost a black top water spinner) in the weeds. The line broke.

It is a little funny, that when I started to fish there last week, a guy there said that supposedly there is large mouth bass in the pond, but he had not caught anything.

When I was leaving, I saw a buck on the edge of the trail.  If I would have been really prepared, I would have had the camera out ready to take a picture.

This is a little bit out of the way to find it.   The pond really does not look like it is fished much, so I will be going there more often.

Anyway, a northern on a top water yellow spinner.
